ABOUT ABOUT

Synopsis: Could your business benefit from using data from satellites to understand your current and future markets or provide new and innovative goods and services?   Every day/minute sophisticated satellites are circling our planet and sending back amazing images containing rich information about our world (air quality, pollution, floods, droughts, tree coverage, wind farms, rail and road infrastructure, congestions, etc.) which could be used to inform business practices, development of new products and services and markets.  And the best part, a lot of these images are available free of charge.  Could your business benefit by using satellite enabled information?

At this event companies and organisations will have a chance to use open source tools and free satellite data to identify and address a real business challenge/opportunity (proposed by delegates ahead of the event).  Three specialists in Space Research, Geographical mapping and Innovation will run this session to deliver new insights and practical know-how through working examples and 1-2-1 clinics.

The event leaders/experts will highlight the tools and techniques to effectively overcome the challenges of identifying and accessing relevant satellite data.  They will provide practical guidance on grant funding and tips on how to develop innovative product or service.  At the end of the sessions delegates will have:

identified resources and sources of free data practiced how to use these resources have the necessary skills to implement the tools and solutions to solve their own business challenges or to develop a new service/product met with the three specialists 1-2-1 to discuss ways to further progress their ideas  identified sources of grant funding to further develop their ideas
