At this event, Music Licensing – Setting the record straight, PPL PRS will be discussing music licensing from all angles. You will hear from PRS for Music, the organisation which represents songwriters, composers and music publishers and ensures they are paid their royalties correctly for the work they produce. If you are a performer yourself, you will also hear how important it is to register yourself and your work with PPL and PRS for Music to ensure you are paid.
Also on the panel will be some of the PPL PRS team who have spoken with businesses who play music and know how it can add value to a brand, boost employee productivity and help improve customer experience in a retail environment. We shall also be talking about the history behind PPL PRS, the reason Leicester is the ideal base for the company, the fantastic support the team received from the Inward Investment Team, and the local business community as a whole.
You will learn first-hand from a local business owner who uses music within their organisation, how much value it can add, and the effect it could have should they stop playing music.
Finally, we have the breakthrough artist, who without the revenue collected via TheMusicLicence may not be in a position to continue to be creative and produce the tracks that are currently being showcased by the likes of BBC Introducing.
After the panel discussion, there will be some time for a Q&A session before our featured panel artist, George Gadd, will perform a short musical set for you all to enjoy whilst networking and meeting the panel.
