The care sector is rarely out of the news these days, and it is usually bad news. Caring for an increasingly aging population is an issue that affects everyone. We all expect and want high quality care for ourselves and our families. Care companies expect to make a profit, but are finding it increasingly difficult to do so. Problems with recruitment and staff retention are well documented – so how do we care for the Carers? What are the solutions and how can we work together to affect change?
This seminar is for owners of care companies, Carers (unpaid and paid), Commissioners and users. The event aims to raise awareness of problems in the care sector and offer some solutions.
Speakers will include an employee/owner of a Co-operative business which works constantly to improve conditions and retain staff, and a representative from Community Union, which represents employees and the self-employed in the Care sector and lobbies for Policy changes at Government level for the Care sector.
